Pumpking recipe challenge

Recently one of our designers, Christine Nay, introduced me to a fabulous blog Creative Cookbooking. So for our challenge this week we took on their challenge, to create a layout about a favorite pumpkin treat.

I had so much fun with this and can't wait to create more recipe pages!!
Thanks Christine and the folks at Creative Cookbooking for the fun challenge :)

Here's what our designers created.

Everyone send a big welcome out to our three newest designers!!

I love making pages for my album but I'm more and more fun to make housings. I am the proud owner of a Cricut Expression and as I say "Me & Expression: Addiction.

I currently have 24 cartridges and I love them all for their incredible diversity and possibilites, but have some favorites: Storybook, Graphically Speaking, A Child's Year, Sweetheart, Home decor.

It happened through the scrap and net welfare choses. The beautiful beautiful virtual meetings, a chance to be named Chirper Challenge Guest Designer. An article on me will appear in the magazine Scrapbooking Passion in late November and from the 24/10. I integrate the editorial team of the Mini-Mag (virtual magazine) with a monthly feature devoted entirely to the Cricut. I also converted a few friends with whom we meet for us to indulge our passion.

Hi! My name is Sherri Simmons. I live in Pounding Mill, Virginia. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and the mother of two teens. I began scrapping last summer following a two week vacation to Florida and the Bahamas.

My husband gave me a Cricut for my birthday last September, and I started cutting and never stopped. My favorite cartridge is Paper Doll Dress Up. Described by many as "quirky", my scrapping style is whimsical. I love to create my own characters from basic shapes or by looking at cuts a little "outside of the box."

My work has been featured in the Cricut Chirp newsletter, I've made the top 5 in the Cupcake Craft Challenge contests, and I recently won the decorative scissors contest on Practical Scrappers.

My style is clean, colorful and coordinating. I love using pattern paper, my darling Cricut and always finding ways to incorporate stamping.

Layouts are something I am trying to get into. I purchase SEI 2009 Calendar, where each month is a predefined layout , but I try to incorporate my own style. This has worked well for me, because it guarantee I will make 12 layouts that year. On each layout, I use my Cricut. I have done this for 3 years straight and love it!

Thank you all for understanding the dely in posting. I appreciate your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. The family member who was sick wasn't expected to make it through the day over a week and a half ago. She had a heart attack, and her liver and kidneys were failing. Each day since has been like walking on egg shells but she's beat all the odds and is being moved to a nursing home for recovery today.

She is the strongest most stubbon person I've ever known, she inspires me!

Check back later today for our latest challenge, and thanks again for waiting :)

Hugs to all!

Introducing our designers DAY 2

My current style of scrapping is anything distressed! I love distressing and inking the edges of everything. I'm also into swirls and flourishes right now. I like to use browns, greens and pinks on my pages.

I have been scrapping for 11 years. I have owned a Cricut for 3 years. My fav. carts are Storybook, Home Decor and Graphically Speaking. I am only on this DT and have never been published.

I live in the beautiful Arizona desert. I am married to a wonderful man who has one son. We have a darling Grandson Liam who keeps us entertained and on our toes. I have been stamping and making cards for almost 20 years. When the Cricut machine was introduced I was so excited. I bought the first one Michael’s had in Tucson along with Doodlecharms and Beyond Birthdays and used 50%-off coupons for each item! Time goes so fast I don’t remember if that was 3 or 4 years ago. I literally wore out my first Baby Bug and now have my 2nd Baby and the Expression. I love to combine techniques so it was a natural for me to combine my love of stamping with using my Cricut. I own 46 cartridges and don’t really have a favorite. I do have a least favorite…Jasmine; only because you really need to cut the letters large to not go crazy. I have recently begun collecting digital stamps and I am on the DT for Polkadoodles (Nikky Hall’s fantastic digital art company). I am currently the guest designer for the Hallmark Scrapbook Ladybugs blog featuring my use of the Magnolia Tilda stamps combined with Cricut.

What I have for you today is an example of 2 cards – each uses the same background paper.

This first one is stamped and colored with Prismas and odorless mineral spirits.

This one uses the new Cricut Winter Woodlands cartridge.

Two different techniques...both feature a bit of doodling and a single corner punch – I like them both.

I'm a born and raised "Yooper" from Michigan's Upper Peninsula married to my best friend and the love of my life. We have two young boys (5 and 3) who and I am blessed to be able to stay home and care for. I also do daycare for one little girl. My mom bought me a scrapbook and page kit after my Junior prom and I've been scrapping ever since. After a year of debating I finally convinced my DH to get me a cricut in Febuary of '07, and by August I was pleading with him for the expression. I love making cards, gift boxes and altered items as much if not more than scrapbooking. My style is clean and simple with attention to detail.
Favorite cartridges of mine include Sesame street font, Storybook, and Pooh Font. However, my most used cartridges are George and Basic Shapes, Plantin Schoolbook and Mini Monograms for the shapes they offer. I'm also on the design team at www.scrapsketch.com and have been highlighted in the Cricut Chirp newsletter.

Join us tomorrow as we introduce to you our fabulous NEW designers from our recent DT call!!

Introducing our designers DAY ONE

Well I really do not have a style I just do what I feel and I love to distress so you guys need to tell me my style because I do not know??? I have crafted my whole life, I was making the loopy pot holders when I was 5yo, and I became a stamper in 1996 and then I went into the scrap store to get my stamping paper and bam saw this cowboy pp and that was it I started scrapping that day and in 2004. By March I was going to retreats. My hubby bought me the cricut in May 2006 in fact the Micheals girl told him he was the first to buy one at that store, and he gave it to me for Mother's Day. I bought the Expression in July 07. My favorite cartridges include Storybook and Walk In My Garden.

I'm a member of the Rusty Pickle DT and I have been published in Scrapbook News and Review, Ready Set Create, and Scrap Street. I have been featured on blogs, and newsletters. I won 2nd place in the Quickutz contest and honorable mention in another Quickutz contest. Recently I made the cover of Ready Set Create for the apple basket I did as a Chirper Challenge. I am the mother of nine children ranging in ages from 22 to 14mons. Six boys and three girls. I work weekends and have so much to do when I am home again. I try to take a walk everyday and eat healthy. I do most of my crafting at night when everyone is asleep, I plug my ipod in and create away. It is an escape.

I live in Boise, Idaho with my puppy, Chloe, and my cat, Tuxie. I am primarily a cardmaker but I've been known to do a scrapbook page or two. I've been scrapbooking and cardmaking for about three years. I know, I'm a late bloomer. I really got into cardmaking when I started my blog and found all the inspiration for cardmakers. My style is quite eclectic but my favorite is shabby/vintage. I'm not the best at it but just keep telling myself, practice makes perfect. I've only had my Cricut for about a year. My most used cartridge is George but I can't say that is my favorite. George has the circles and other shapes that I use in cardmaking. If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only take one cartridge, it would be Stretch Your Imagination because it has cuts for just about any occasion.

My first design team position was for Flutter By Wednesday. Danni really had faith in me as a cardmaker and trusted me to be on her team. I am also on Bee Crafty's design team. If you haven't tried out digi stamps, she has some cute, fun images to choose from. I tried out for the Chirper Challenge design team because I wasn't using my Cricut very much and I thought this challenge would motivate me to use it in my cardmaking!

Diana Torres http://www.tweadledee.blogspot.com/

I’d say my style is clean & simple with a touch of shabby chic at times. I do tend to break out of my normal style and try others to challenge myself but it’s hard for me to get out of my symmetrical state of mind. I’ve been scrapping for almost 3 years now and I can safely say that I’m certain I’m a little obsessed with it. It all started with my wanting to give my sister in-law a family scrapbook for her birthday. Nowadays I’ve become more of a card maker. I love to make cards for others and try to match their personality or what the like to the card.

I’ve had my cricut for a year and a half and I love it! There’s so much you can do with it and they’re constantly expanding the possibilities with new products to use with it. My favorite carts…..hmmm that’s a tough one. Right now it would have to be Storybook and Paper Doll Dress Up which I use mostly for the accessories and not the actual dolls. I’m currently falling in love with A Child’s Year. Cricut is always coming out with new carts so my favorites do change. I am not on any other design teams and I have never submitted one of my creations for publication. One of my cards did make it on to the Cricut newsletter earlier this year. : )
We'll see you tomorrow with a few more of our fabulous designers!!
